I'm not "there" yet ...
... but I'm learning that
Wisdom comes from slowing down ...
Taking time to think things through
Mince words
Save energy ... harness the fuel from sparks of passion
... and put it to use at the appropriate time and place.
As a young child, I wondered about the white hair
framing the smiling faces of the elder ones.
(notice I said "smiling") ... they are the wisest ones!
It took time
for me to realize
that those white hairs
that crown the heads of those whom are fortunate ...
to live long enough
to survive ... and thrive ...
the GOOD LIFE --
-- are symbols
Of the waiting,
Of the breathing,
of the years of laughter
and tears
of the living.
The Wisdom of Life: Slow Down and Live Longer!
PS: Many of the same "elder" ones from my childhood are still among us. Don't assume that the elder's will die before you....As they have the Wisdom to live longer. Do you??
